Mid-Autumn Festival is a widely celebrated folk festival in China, which is is an inherited custom to celebrate the harvest and express thankfulness. The students watched the cartoon of the romantic legend story of Chang E (the moon lady) flying to the moon. They also made a Moon Festival card for this special day!
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 through October 15. To become more familiar with Mexico’s struggle for independence, fifth graders created keynote presentations outlining the important events and people involved with el Día de Independencia de Mexico. The entire RHCDS campus gathered on the field yesterday for our first fire drill of the 2015-2016 school year. All of our Faculty and Staff knew exactly what to do, and students filed out of classrooms in an orderly fashion. Great job, RHCDS!
Our annual Kindergarten Indoor/Outdoor Educational Experience was a huge hit this past Friday night. Our Super K’s had a nighttime adventure of swimming, making s’mores, watching a movie and to top it off, sleeping over with their parents and Ms. Tillson in the M.P.R.
