When and where can I pick up admissions information/application?
Applications are available in August of each preceding school year and can be completed online. Contact the Admissions Office at 310-377-4848 ext. 7022 or email admissions@rhcds.com to learn more.
When can we visit the campus?
Prospective applicants and their parents are encouraged to attend Country Day’s Open House on the last Sunday of January, from 1:00-3:00 P.M. Reservations are not required. We also provide tours by appointment. You may schedule a campus tour by reserving a time online, by clicking here, or by calling the Admissions Office at 310-377-4848.
What is the enrollment at Rolling Hills Country Day School?
We are a Kindergarten through Grade 8 facility with a total enrollment of approximately 400 students. Each fall, approximately 36 kindergarteners enrolled, two classes with a maximum of 18 students per class. Grades 1-5 each have two classes with 20-24 students in each class. We enroll a maximum of 52 students in each of the Middle School grades with class sizes averaging between 12 and 18 students.
Who are the Rolling Hills Country Day School faculty?
The RHCDS faculty are highly educated and experienced educators with the majority of whom have achieved post-graduate level education. Our teachers must have extensive teaching experience before joining our staff. Some are veterans of other independent schools, including international schools, while others have worked in public schools prior to joining RHCDS. What they have in common are strong preparation in their fields of study, a commitment to professional growth, and a desire for meaningful and productive relationships with students.
Where do Rolling Hills Country Day students go to high school?
Our graduates matriculate to over 15 different high schools across the South Bay and the country with approximately 50 percent remaining in the private sector and 50 percent moving on to the public high schools in the surrounding districts. Students who enroll in private high schools look to Chadwick, Loyola High School, Marymount High School, Bishop Montgomery, St. John Bosco, The Archer School for Girls, Notre Dame Academy, and Vistamar. Country Day graduates have matriculated at many prestigious boarding schools, including Cate, the Webb Schools, Deerfield Academy, and Choate Rosemary Hall, among others.

Is the school accredited?
Rolling Hills Country Day School is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). We are also a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, the Educational Records Bureau (ERB), and the California Kindergarten Association.
Is it too late to apply?
We offer “rolling enrollment,” which means we accept applications and conduct small group entrance evaluations until each class is full. Call to inquire about possible openings.
