Grade 8 students started conducting research back in June on historical topics of interest, with the ultimate goal of producing a documentary, website, exhibit, or dramatic performance. Their topic of interest related to the theme “Taking a Stand in History.” When they started school in the fall, the students selected their topics, formulated a thesis, conducted extensive primary and secondary source research, and created storyboards to organize their vision. In total, the students spent ten months refining and creating. The final step in the process, the orchestration of their vision, culminated in a presentation of an incredible array of documentaries, websites, exhibits, and performances.
