Our “Fifty Nifty State Fair” is a chance for the 5th grade students to share their knowledge of the fifty states of our country. The students began their research in September when they selected their states. Throughout the process, they spend countless hours researching and writing. The project culminates with a performance and “State Fair”.

During the Fifty Nifty performance, students wear costumes representing their state, sing patriotic songs and give a speech about someone or something important to their state. Afterwards, the students proceed to their exhibit tables and the fair begins! Each student displays their state with a report, poster, ABC book in which each letter of the alphabet corresponds with something from their particular state, and an additional art project. The audience is encouraged to visit every state.

What a wonderful country we live in!
