Ms. Gina King, Grade 4 teacher, leads Fourth and Fifth Grade girls at lunchtime for their monthly “Girl Talk”. This is her fifth year teaching at RHCDS and she is certified in child psychology. Each grade meets separately with Ms. King and they share opinions, feelings, and learn how to navigate and deal with topics such as friendships, gossip, and cliques. “Girl Talk” provides resources and strategies on how to deal with sensitive and touchy subjects.  The program started in 2014 and has been very successful, resulting in plans to expand to our Middle School.

The girls enjoy their discussions, but more importantly, they are learning life skills such as being their own advocate, empathy, compassion, self-worth and what constitutes being a good friend.
