Ms. King has been leading Grades 4 and 5 girls for their monthly “Girl Talk” at lunchtime for the past few years.  This led some Fourth Grade boys to ask, “When do we get a dude lunch?” Ms. King recognized the importance of validating that boy’s feelings are equally as important as girls and the “Dudes Lunch” was formed.

Last month was the first Fourth Grade “Dude Lunch” meeting and they discussed friendships and bullying. This month’s topic focused on traits of a good friend and how to be a good friend. Future topics will include: respect, compassion, empathy, open-mindedness, expressing feelings, and cliques.

The boys enjoyed having their “guy time” as they ate their lunches.  This is Ms. King’s fifth year teaching at RHCDS and she is certified in child psychology.
