The 5th grade students participated in a Newbery Book Club in the library this fall and winter. They chose three new books published in 2015 that were Newbery award contenders,Crenshaw by Katherine Applegate, The War that Saved my Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley, and The Honest Truth by Dan Gemeinhart. They were all great reads, and one of our choices actually won the 2016 Newbery Honor Award!
