Mrs. Primero, Mrs. Hardy, and Mr. Z’s Grade 2 classes went on an exciting field trip to the J. Paul Getty Museum recently.
Upon arrival, students formed into smaller groups and were taken on a docent-lead tour to view some of the wonderful paintings and sculptures on exhibit.
Students had a chance to sketch inside one of the galleries, and after the tour, students explored the galleries with a few of the parent chaperones.
At Country Day, Grade 2 students are studying two of the masters, Vincent Van Gogh and Rembrant Van Rynn, and they are replicating one of their masterpieces.
Students’ masterpiece replicas will be on display at the Open House Art Show on Sunday, January 31, from 1:00-3:00 P.M. in the Multi-Purpose Room.
